To encourage candidates whose passion is for the field of Science…from Atmospheric to Zoology, from Enology to Environmental and from Public Heath to the Natural Sciences. As a man of the world – Switzerland, South Africa, Australia and America – Max viewed our planet as a “Blue Marble of the Universe” when looking from Outer Space: Thus, the name “Blue Marble”.

Criteria

  • Available to graduates of Woodinville, North Creek, Bothell and Inglemoor high schools and Secondary Academic for Success (SAS).
  • Financial need is a strong consideration.
  • Plans to attend a public or private two- or four-year school within the Pacific Northwest.
  • Consideration given to those who have participated in the Rotary- sponsored Northshore Interact Club during high school.
  • Will major in science and seek a bachelor’s degree in the field of science.

Requirements

  • Has participated in student activities and demonstrated a strong commitment for service to others, both in school and community;
  • Letters of recommendation will be accepted but are not required;
  • Candidates are interviewed by a committee comprised of members of Woodinville Rotary Club and the Scholarship Foundation leadership.
